12:50pm Friday 20th January 2012

HE’S Lord Sugar’s trusted adviser – and now Nick Hewer is set to make a high-profile appearance in Basingstoke when he officially opens the BE INSPIRED business event.
Nick, who appears on the hit BBC 1 show The Apprentice and is the new host of Channel 4’s Countdown, said he is looking forward to attending the regional business event which will take place at Belvedere House, Basing View on Thursday, April 19.
He said: “I’m very pleased to be invited to Basingstoke to open what is set to be a very useful day for businesses. Every business, whether large or small, new or established, can benefit from taking a day out to step back, see what’s new, what everyone else is doing and find out about new opportunities. I am sure we will all Be Inspired!”
Nick’s appearance at the key event is sponsored by Basingstoke law firm Phillips Solicitors, whose team will have a stand at BE INSPIRED.
Jonathan Pender, director at Phillips, based in London Street, said: “We’re delighted to be able to work with Destination Basingstoke at this major business event, and we are in no doubt that the enigmatic Nick Hewer is guaranteed to give it the entertaining kick-start that it deserves.”
Nick, who has worked extensively with Lord Sugar, will be the first of a wide range of speakers on a rapidly expanding programme of presentations and seminars aimed at businesses of all sizes and types, with an emphasis on helping businesses access the advice and support they need to be successful in the area.
Destination Basingstoke managing director Felicity Edwards said “We are excited by the interest that BE INSPIRED is generating in the business community – it has gained a real momentum and that is a great demonstration that Basingstoke is the right place for an event of this sort.”
